Welcome

I’m Chuanxin Niu (牛传欣), call me Minos if it’s easier.

You’ll see C. Minos Niu in all my publications.

I’ve been enjoying my life and work since I joined SangerLab at USC. Before that I did my PhD in Chicago. Keep tracing back you’ll find me in China.

Research

I wonder how brains control movements …

So I’m building a “brain” on chip.

And see if they make robots alive.

If in this “brain” something goes wrong

It tells me why robots/people/children get movement disorders.

Projects

  • Organized a workshop “How to Build a Brain” at Cosyne 2013
  • Neuromorphic emulation of human motor nervous system
  • Robot with human-like reflexes
  • Speak with muscles
